I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 - I thought that I needed a new AC adaptor/battery charger because it stopped charging. I tried numerous plugs throughout the house that work perfectly fine with other appliances and still no luck. Finally, one randomly lets it charge. Why are only random outlets working to charge my computer?
I believe you probably still needdell appliance to buy a new ac adapter - it is not that one random outlet start working, it is probably because the wiring in your ac adapter cord has a break and accidentally, when you tried that random outlet, you briefly connected the break and allow the power to go through. If you try that outlet later, it probably wont work again.
Unfortunately, this justdell appliance means that you have to buy a new ac adapter, or if you have warranty, send it back for a replacement. If you are going to buy a new ac adapter, I would recommend buying from Topmic.com because they offer lifetime warranty and free shipping to all ac adapters at a good price. I think it is definitely worth it to buy from them.
