download sounds from youtube videosCan i download just the audio from youtube videos to make into a cd?

is their anyway i can download the sound from youtube videos and burn them onto a cd?
I have the same dell too.

I find it is easy to record just audio from YouTube videos and then burn CD right away on a streaming audio recorder.

Perhaps you are looking for some program just like this one. HAVE A TRY FIRST.
You can download the video and then run it through a conversion program, with settings for audio-only output. YouTube videos usually contain MP3 audio (the last time I checked), so for lossless conversion, you can extract the raw audio stream in this format.

For example, with the ffmpeg program, you could run the command:
ffmpeg -i downloaded-youtube-vid.flv -vn -acodec copy youtube-vid-audio-only.mp3
Which will extract the original audio, unaltered, in a matter of seconds.

If you're not into command line tools, there are plenty of GUI tools to do the same sort of thing. (Indeed, some of them are based upon ffmpegdownload sounds from youtube videos, so they might do exactly the same thing.)

If your tool takes longer than 30 seconds to extract the audio, you've probably told it to re-encode the audio. This is okay - you'll still get a result - but it will take longer and will reduce the quality of the sound (you might not even notice, but I'm just saying).

Once you've got your audio file, you can just burn it onto a CD using any ordinary audio CD creation software. Be sure to burn it using the Audio CD mode in the software, rather than as a CD-ROM with mp3 files on it, unless your CD player supports "MP3 CDs".

To download the video from YouTube in the first place, there are a few browser extensions available, for example Download Helper for Firefox. There is generally a choice of different quality versions of the video available. I'd say anything above YouTube's HQ mode (480p) is overkill, as you only want the sound and it doesn't get much better with HD versions.
I download sounds from youtube videosuse DVDVideoSoft's Free Studio software. Available from:

Use the Free Youtube to MP3 Feature to automatically download and convert then either use the Free Audio CD Burner available at: or your desired CD Burning programme you already have installed on your computer.
